Sunless Tanning.. What is it and how does it work?
Sunless tanning products are centered around an active ingredient called Dihydroxyacetone (commonly known as DHA) to your skin.DHA is a sugar (without colour) that interacts directly with the proteins and amino acids in the outer layer of your skin, the epidermis, to produce a gorgeous golden brown colour. When applying your sunless tan, a tanning product containing a lightly coloured solution of DHA will be applied all over the body, before being showered off when your actual tan has developed.
Before spray tan!
Shower and exfoliate your entire body the night before paying particular attention to elbows, knees, ankles and
problem dry  areas.
You should be free of all deodorant, make-up, moisturisers, and perfumes.
Make sure any waxing or shaving is done at least 8 hours before tanning to allow pores time to close.
Ensure you wear dark, loose clothing and shoes to your appointment. Avoid white clothing and tight jeans.
We will provide disposable g-strings, you can also wear your own dark coloured underwear if you prefer.

After spray tan!
Wait at least 8-12 hours before showering after your tanning session.
Ensure you apply moisturiser, morning and evening. Hydrated skin makes your tan last longer!
Take showers instead of baths. Baths can accelerate exfoliation and fade your tan.
Pat dry after showering and use the moisturising balm to prolong your tan.
Do not exercise or get wet until after your post tan shower. Avoid water altogether until your first shower.
Do not exfoliate until your tan has faded completely. Exfoliating will make your skin appear blotchy.
The important bit!
When you shower for the first time the cosmetic dye will wash off revealing your new tanned skin underneath.
The tan left behind will gently and gradually fade until your next exfoliation.
Your skin type affects how often you need to moisturise.
Dryer skin exfoliates faster, so hydrating with moisturiser between sessions is essential to keep your tan glowing.
We recommend moisturising twice a day, morning and night. Try to use a low PH cream with natural ingredients.
Anything overly perfumed with strip your skin of it's natural moisture and will also strip the tan from your skin.

Importantly, is it safe?

Spray tanning and fake tanning are MUCH safer than revealing your skin to the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays. It may not last as long, but you still get a great ‘healthy-looking’ tan.

Following our pre and post tanning guides will help ensure that you’ll be left with a natural sun-kissed look and long lasting results.Remember, with a sunless tan, there is no risk of sunburn, peeling, sunstroke or, more importantly, long-term skin diseases and problems.

If I use sunless tanning, will it steak or turn me orange?

Fake tanning has evolved endlessly since it first emerged on the market. Our products have been developed using modern, specialist technology which seeks to eliminate these issues.
Following our pre and post tanning guides will help ensure that you’ll be left with a natural sun-kissed look and long lasting results.
How dark will the final colour be?
This depends on how you naturally tan. If you tan easily in the sun, the darker you will tan with sunless tanning products.
If you’d like a deep and dark sunless tan, we can apply a darker shade, but you must let us know prior to the treatment as multiple layering can cause uneven wear when your tan begins to fade.

How long will my sunless tan last?

Your tan will last between 7 and 10 days depending on your daily skincare regime and lifestyle. A sunless tan, just like a natural tan from the sun, fades as your skin sheds dead cells. The better you look after your tan, the longer it will last and the better the fade-off will be. We recommend moisturising your skin with a body balm twice daily.

Can I use sunbeds or sunbathe with my sunless tan applied?

Yes, but remember that a sunless tan is much safer than tanning beds, and a great alternative.

After you’re tan is applied, we recommend using SPF20 or higher when outdoors, to protect your skin from the sun.

I am pregnant - can I still have a sunless tan?

Yes, pregnant ladies can still use tanning products, but we always recommend avoiding the use of fake tan during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Is it possible to be allergic to the sunless tanning products?

Allergic reactions are extremely rare with sunless tanning products, especially as our products are organic and contain natural ingredients. However, if you are aware of any allergies, please let our Tanning Specialist know prior to the treatment. Our products contain Macadamia Oil which may affect people with nut allergies.

I have eczema - will this have an impact on my tan, or should I avoid it all together ?

This depends on the extent of the eczema. Dubrovnik Spray Tans always massage a fragrance free barrier cream into dry skin prior to the treatment, this usually helps to reduce the tan absorption.

How can I pay for my treatment?
We are a mobile service so at this time can only take CASH payments in local currency.
